MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY

The third Monday of January is a federal holiday in honor of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and most government offices close.  Every year there are many events held by local colleges and universities as well as private organizations and churches to commemorate the legacy of Dr. King.  Branch members participate in many of these events, and in some years the branch holds its own commemorations. Check the Facebook page for timely announcements.

The branch held a community celebration of Dr. King in January, 2018, with speakers and a meal.
